The diversity of Nebraska’s hunting and fishing opportunities are endless. Big game species available in Nebraska include mule deer, white-tailed deer, bighorn sheep, elk and four different varieties of wild turkey. Walleye, catfish, crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, and wipers are a few of the state’s many fish species to chase.

Nebraska is the home of several man-made reservoirs loaded with great fishing opportunities. Lake McConaughy (Big Mac) is the state’s largest reservoir. Big Mac boasts its large walleye population with many fish in the trophy class caught each year. Another gem is Harlan County Reservoir which is located in the South-Central portion of the state. Harlan County Reservoir has a very healthy white bass population providing not stop action fun for the whole family in mid to late summer. This reservoir is also surrounded by several thousand acres of public hunting land that is very rich with Whitetail deer, turkey, and pheasant.
